Deena DelZotto and Rachel Kimel met at The Stop's Greenbarn. Their joint love for food (growing it and eating it), working with their hands and giving back to the community prompted them to start Bowery Project.
Passing through downtown Toronto, noticing several lots which had been vacant for years, they asked themselves, why can’t we grow food there?
There was no good answer why not.
The seed was planted and the journey began.
