SOUL certified organic master gardeners, Deena and Rachel want to share their passion for growing food in the city. After years volunteering at The Stop’s greenhouse at the Wychwood Barns and working as urban agriculture volunteer leaders at Evergreen Brick Works, they were compelled to start something of their own. In 2013, they formed Bowery Project, a non-profit creating opportunities for urban agriculture. The founders connect with land owners and place-makers in the city; introducing various communities to urban farming and encouraging them to grow food and eat plants.
